I've noticed that when driving on surface roads the nav system in the RL appears to put me about 10-20 yards behind where I really am. This isn't a big deal on the freeway or in places where there aren't many side streets but in my neighbourhood it will tell me to take the 3rd street on the left when it's really the 2nd, for example. This can be annoying if you don't know where you are going as in when you actually *need* the nav system! :-)

The strange thing is that the nav system doesn't appear to be offset in any one direction. If that was true then it would always put the same amount of distance in the same direction between the actual position and where it says you are. I still need to do some more tests and take some pictures but I took the following 4 to illustrate. In each case I've stopped right at the intersection and the nav sytem shows me some distance away from it. As an effect, if I was to make a turn it'll first show me moving off the map and then snap me back onto the road.

Here you see me stopped at the intersection.

The picture on the nav screen.

Now another corner of the same intersection. In the previous two pictures I was sitting at the curb straight ahead.

And again the view of the nav screen.

I'll see if I can take some more, better, pictures. In the meantime please leave a comment here or visit the Acurazine RL forums and post in this thread: http://rl.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1151 .
